Chen and Tou return to Euro RSCG Beijing

Euro RSCG have reappointed James Chen (left) as Managing Director and Doze Tou as Executive Creative Director of Euro RSCG Beijing. The move marks the return of one of Euro RSCG Beijing’s most successful leadership duos, as together Chen and Tou oversaw much of the agency’s strong growth in the early-to-mid 2000s. The announcement follows the return of Euro RSCG veteran Mason Lin as CEO of Greater China. Tou and Chen will report to Lin.

Commenting on the appointments, Lin said, “James and Doze have the rareability to drive strong new business growth while building long-lastingrelationships with clients. Beijing is an important market with strongpotential, and together we share ambitious aspirations for ouroperations there. I’m confident that James and Doze will help us pursueopportunities there, and I am excited to be welcoming them back.”

Chenpreviously spent seven years at Euro RSCG Beijing from 1998-2005, wherehe quickly rose through the ranks from Account Director to GeneralManager to Managing Director. As GM and MD, he oversaw the growth ofthe agency from around 50 staff in 2000 to over 200 people in 2005,winning sizeable new business including Master Kong Bakery, Peugeot,Cisco and Agricultural Bank of China. Most recently he was the VicePresident and Managing Director of Shunya Advertising.

Toujoined Euro RSCG Partnership in Taiwan in 1990, moving to Euro RSCGBeijing in 1996. In Beijing he helped grow the creative department froma copywriter, designer and Creative Director to over 100 specializedcreatives across advertising, marketing services, interaction andhealthcare. His most recent position was Executive Creative Director ofOgilvy Auto (Ogilvy’s automobile team), serving clients such as FAWVolkswagen and Haima, and prior to this he was the ECD at ShunyaAdvertising.

The announcements are effective immediately. Thenews follows former MD, Tammy Sheu, and ECD, Jordan Hsueh, leaving theagency. Both Sheu and Hsueh resigned earlier this year for personalreasons.
