Colenso BBDO duo to represent NZ at AdFest

Kia Heinnen and Zoë Hawkins from Colenso BBDO will represent New Zealand at the AdFest 2011 Young Lotus competition to be held mid March in Phuket, Thailand.

The decision was based on the number of Axis finalists each under-30 team achieved and the spread of that work across different categories. Axis Convenor of Judges, Special Group’s Tony Bradbourne comments: “There are some very good under-30 teams across a number of agencies at the moment, so it was a close thing – I hope Kia and Zoë fly the New Zealand flag well in Thailand – no pressure”

The competition in New Zealand is sponsored by The Sweet Shop.

The AdFest Young Lotus Workshop is open to young creatives under-30 years old and is considered the most prestigious career-launching platform in the Asia Pacific. This is the first time a creative team from Auckland have been sent over. Says the team: “We’re so excited to join creative talent from across the globe and proud to represent NZ for the first time. This opportunity will be a wonderful learning experience and a great start to 2011”.

The Young Lotus Workshop takes place from 14 – 16th March 2011, the top three teams then compete for the Young Lotus title on Thursday 19th March.
