BBH Barn: Words of wisdom from your grandparents goes to help abused and neglected children at Sunbeam Place in Singapore

Moved by the stories of their grandparents, three BBH interns want to inspire others through the wisdom of the elderly. They’re doing this through OldSchooled a one of a kind charity project. Instead of going the traditional route and asking for monetary donations, they are encouraging you to donate something that’s perhaps more precious – your grandparents’ words of wisdom.

Old1.jpgOld2.jpgThe idea is simple: submit a picture of your grandparents, along with their words of wisdom, and they’ll donate $1 of their project budget to Sunbeam Place, a residential home for abused and neglected children in Singapore –turning elders’ life lessons into opportunity and direction for children in need.

The idea came out of BBH’s Barn which they now run in Asia following BBH New York’s very successful recent intakes. This year’s intake saw six interns join the 10 week program.

“We wanted to create something that really made a difference, but also something that could last past our internship. ‘OldSchooled’ not only gives a future to the children at Sunbeam Place, but it also creates a resource of wisdom for youth around the world”, say the team– Selina Strasburger, Joy Ayles, and Victor Haffling.

Old3.jpg$1000 will cover four children’s school expenses for a year in Singapore. So far, $150 has been donated, and the team aim to reach one thousand by December 15th.

Get involved and donate your grandparents’ wisdom and photo to help them reach their goal.
