Naga DDB Malaysia and BMW create an eco auto start and stop function for your computer
A little eco thinking goes a long way. Naga DDB Malaysia has created the BMW ECO PRO Screensaver – the screensaver that lowers energy consumption and reduces emissions.
This intelligent, one-of-a-kind screensaver only activates your screen when you are present and is 60 times more efficient than a normal screensaver. With the help of the webcam, your computer can detect when you have left it and will switch the screen off within 10 seconds. Only to switch it back on as soon as it detects your face again.
If every new computer sold this year installed the BMW ECO PRO Screensaver, the world would reduce its CO2 emissions by 50,000 kilos and save over 50 million US dollars in energy consumption.
