Yang Yeo, Amanda Yang and Morihiro Harano to represent Asia as judges at the D&AD Awards

TYang Yeo.jpghree top creative directors from Asia have been chosen as jury members for the 2013 D&AD Awards.

Yang Yeo (pictured left) from JWT Shanghai will judge Press Advertising, Amanda Yang (pictured below top) from Leo Burnett Shangai will sit on the Outdoor Advertising panel, and Morihiro Harano (pictured below bottom), founder of Party Japan, will be part of the Mobile Marketing jury.

Amanda Yang.jpgIn 2012, 77 Awards were picked up by entries from nine Asian nations. They were the “most international yet” for D&AD, with over 69% from outside the UK and over 30% of the Awards given to work from outside Europe and North America.

Japan topped the table by number of awards in Asia – scooping 32 Awards overall including 4 Yellow Pencils. Work from Singapore (taking 12 Awards in 2012), China (with 11 Awards) and Malaysia (with 10 Awards) was also recognised.

 

D&AD aims to only award work of the highest standard, meaning that the quantity of awards given fluctuates year on year. The scrutiny and rigour imposed by the Morihiro Harano.jpginternationally acclaimed judges is legendary, and ensures that only very best work receives the coveted Yellow and Black Pencils. For those projects that make it in to the famous Annual, Pencil slices are awarded to mark the achievement.
