BBH forced to re-edit “Thank You” spot after it emerged that one of the extras was a pedophile

Campaign Brief previously reported on Barclays new integrated campaign for its activation of the Barclays Premier League via BBH.  BBH was recently forced to withdraw and re-edit its “Thank You” spot after it emerged that one of the extras in the ad was a convicted pedophile.

Says Charlie Rudd, managing director of BBH London: “Usually when looking for talent to use in commercials we hire actors via casting agencies where full checks are employed. In this instance, to ensure authenticity, we recruited 400 real football fans for the crowd scenes alongside professional actors. After this was brought to our attention we immediately took the ad off air and have reedited it.”

The new version of the ad has already been played out and has replaced the old version with the convicted pedophile.
