FIN Design+Effects launches into virtual reality with VR Headset Technology: the Oculus Rift
Fin Design + Effects has recently collaborated with Whybin TBWA Digital Arts Network on an exciting virtual reality experience using the latest in VR Headset Technology, The Oculus Rift. The experience was part of a larger NRMA Insurance “Crashed Car” showroom exhibition that won Best In Show at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
VFX Supervisor and self-confessed virtual reality junkie, Stuart White, led the project internally. White said of the project, “Working in virtual reality with the Oculus Rift prototype is extremely exciting – it’s like being given a chance to see into the near future. Fin has 13 years of experience making 3D worlds, but now I can put on a headset a walk around inside them. The possibilities for our clients are pretty mind-bending and this new medium is so fresh we are writing the rule book one job at a time.”
Fin is now exploring a host of new opportunities for agencies and clients that will be able to utilize the latest and greatest VR Technology.
