AndyAwardsCFE.jpgThe International ANDY Awards has launched its 2016 Call for Entries campaign, created by Wieden+Kennedy New York.

In it’s 52nd year, the new 2016 campaign, with the tongue-in-cheek tagline, “Beat the Best and Win an ANDY,” seeks to inspire greatness and challenge creatives around the world to be brave and enter the awards to prove their own campaign can compete with the ANDYs “best advertising campaign you have ever seen” call for entries.

This year, Wieden + Kennedy New York took the campaign a step further. In addition to creating a film which showcases the highest example of the industry’s craft and purports to be “the best commercial of the year so far,” the campaign features a series of “perfect” digital media ads, and the world’s best social media campaign. But what is most novel is the campaign’s first of its kind microsite to inspire collaboration in the community by providing the perfect interactive experience.

The website will be a continuous work of art, encouraging the public, even beyond the creative community, to include their own personal touch through video, photos, music and more. By its very nature, the site will become more interactive and perfect as time goes on at best.andyawards.com. Go ahead, add an image, a gif, a song, your favorite meme, and let the website work its algorithmic magic. The auto-enhanced website will inevitably leave you with the best experience on the Internet.

“Working with the ANDYs team has, for the second year in a row, been a rewarding experience,” said Colleen DeCourcy, 2016 ANDY Jury Chair and Partner, Global Co-Executive Creative Director of Wieden + Kennedy. “They are a wonderful creative partner with a great sense of humor. To celebrate the year’s best work, we decided to poke fun at the advertising cliches. People in this industry are dedicated, largely, to creating excellent work – and it can be a very serious business. We wanted to acknowledge that dedication in a way that was fun and self-aware.”

Additionally, the 2016 ANDYs will feature three new awards categories. Typography (Design) and Art Direction (Craft) round out the full spectrum of technique recognitions, and Corporate Social Responsibility (Advertiser) recognizes consumers’ growing demand of companies to use influence and profits for good. This category is especially significant to The AD Club of NY and The ANDYs as both organizations are committed to giving back to their industry and community. Amazon Media Group will continue its brand sponsorship of the ANDYs for a second consecutive year.

“This year we wanted to include creatives, inventors and innovators in the ANDYs CFE launch, sharing an entirely new platform from which people could be brave,” said Gina Grillo, President & CEO, The International ANDY Awards. “Colleen and the talented team at W+K helped us accomplish just that through this year’s innovative campaign and website which is a direct reflection on the type of innovative, brave work the ANDYs recognizes. We can’t wait to see what the final result reveals.”

The ANDYs have continually raised standards for craftsmanship in the industry around the world for more than 50 years. As Chairman, Colleen DeCourcy, Partner/Global Co-Executive Creative Director of Wieden + Kennedy leads the global jury for the second year, evaluating and recognizing the bravest creative work from around the world. The partnership between the ANDY Awards and Wieden + Kennedy is essential to the show’s continued evolution in an always changing industry while staying true to the ideals and beliefs held by its founders in 1964. The creative work will be judged by a hand-selected jury of globally renowned creative leaders, and the awards are granted to both single entries and campaign executions, distinguished by product, service or technique category.
