Seen+Noted: A great reception anywhere

Indian telecommunications company BPL Mobile wanted to demonstrate the excellent coverage that their network offers, even when using a mobile phone underground. McCann Erickson Mumbai created this press campaign to depict the moment of truth when network coverage drop outs usually become a reality. These ads show security guards with a welcoming garland in basement parking lots and subways.

Does the security guard work for the phone company?
Rubbish. Just because it is an “emerging nation” creatively doesn’t mean India can get away with doing ads as bad as this forever.
horrible pun on the word reception!
You don’t just get a reception you get ‘lei-ed’ . Yeehah!
Seriously, what’s this doing on the blog??
Incredible, India!
seriously 11.47, your head is so far up your arse you can smell your own crap. the ’emerging nations’ as you call them have been producing far better work of late than your ’emerged nations’. i think you need some industrial strength laxative to disengage your sorry head.
I think this campaign is a lot cooler than that canine-centric fluff that Vodafone came up with.
Networks come and networks go, but there’s one that stays with you even in sub terranean conditions.. That’s the gist of this tongue-in-cheek campaign. Will it convince potential subscribers? Who cares. My guess is it will convince the jury!
