Winning over the world with Tiger
Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia has launched a new tv push for Tiger Beer. New Zealand post production company Oktobor helped Saatchi rebuild three iconic cities of the world (London, Paris, New York) for their ‘winning over the world’ Tiger campaign.

Duncan said: “The intention is that from a single drop of beer we would capture small moments of the three cities growing and build them into a bottle shape. The real challenge was to give a sense of scale in such a short amount of time.”
For the London commercial Duncan rebuilt part of the historic city complete with its iconic Big Ben bell tower. “For London we decided to keep things simple. The bricks that built the city all had a uniform shape and the same style as they entered each shot. This really helped as there were often between 10-20,000 bricks being animated in a scene at any one time.
For the Big Apple, Oktobor built the city out of crystals. “Whilst visually stunning, there was a very heavy rendering time.” He explained. “We tested various forms of lighting in order to give a true crystal look as opposed to one that resembled ice.”
The final ad in the trilogy was Paris which was built out of the kind of wire fencing often seen adorning typical classic Parisian architecture. “This was a tricky thing to do.” He said, “We had to figure out many different ways of making the wire ‘grow’ to give a sense of purpose and intent. There was a real focus on composition with lots of depth of field and focus pulling in this commercial to avoid the environment looking empty.”

Beautiful execution. Simple and sweet message. A feel-good on a dreary morning.
9.27…thats not the ad, its probably the Xanax you’re taking.
Could be a great ‘Lego’ ad.
11:48… Another hater who probably never factors in the quality of work based on the nature of the client. It’s not always about the visual punt and bottom right hand corner logo template that equates a nice piece of work. Grow out of it. The world could do with one less hater.
Lets be honest, its a print ad masquerading as TV. Whats it got to do with beer, buggerall.
10:04 – You should try getting the idea to know what it has to do with beer. You must have had a torrid time trying to figure out what a gorilla had to do with chocolates.
Whats to get…beer wins some medals in London city, so lets make up London city to look like a beer bottle. Must be a very dry beer indeed judging by the advert. At least the gorilla ad really delivered happiness as you watched it (and as the tagline promised).
But hey, good on em for trying…its a bugger of a brief.
Saw this ad and have to say its got nothing to do with winning over anything. Its rather forced and uses CGI to cover the lack of an idea.
