Japan ranked third at One Show Interactive
NEWYORK – Japan scored 8 Pencils and 18 Merits to rank third in the world at the 2009 OneShow Interactive Awards in New York last night. Japan only had the USA and Sweden in front of them on the leader board. Australia ranked sixth with 4 Pencils and 5 Merits and China ranked ninth with 3 Pencils and 3 Merits. Now in its12th year, One Show Interactive reflects the expanding realm of onlineand digital work.
New Zealand also performed admirably, winning three Pencils and five merits, and was placed equal seventh with Brazil.
Japan scored 4 Silver and 4 Bronzes with ONIQLO work figuring in 3 Pencils. Dentsu Tokyo picked up two Silvers. The only Gold award for Asia Pacific at the One Show Interactive went to JWT Beijing for Nokia “Bruce Lee – Pingpong”.
“This was an amazing collection of work,” said Kevin Swanepoel,president of The One Club. “Agencies responded to a tough economy andan uncertain media landscape with talent, boldness of thought andfearless determination.”

Goodby Silverstein & Partners: – 1st Interactive Agency of the Year Award.
Total of 7 pencils (5 Gold, 2 Silver).
R/GA: Total 7 pencils (2 Gold, 1 Silver, 4 Bronze).
Crispin Porter + Bogusky: Total of 6 pencils (2 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze).
This year’s One Show Interactive served as the closing night of thefirst ever “Creative Week NYC.” Hosted by The One Club, “Creative WeekNYC” included three prestigious awards shows honoring the year’s bestachievements in advertising, interactive media and design in additionto events devoted to digital, music, film and the fine arts. The OneShow Interactive after party featured the California based rock band”We Are Scientists” from Sony ATV.
