Poor headlines….hard to read. Looks like a car crash at a railroad crossing.
I love the crafting here. Hard to read? Not at all as the art direction is engaging and I was drawn in enough to want to read them. Ok they look a little “proactive” but good work guys.
Looks more like “someone going to bed with Laura Ashley and waking up with a tranny” moment. Cant blame the art guys tho, they tried like hell…but when you have such rubbish headlines and no campaign idea, all you can really do is some flashy crafting.
PS. Wish someone could reproduce Steve Elricks campaign for Sugar Hut Pattaya here so readers here see just how identical these 2 campaigns are in writing style and content…..2 campaigns from the same agency, just years apart and different art direction.
I can’t believe a Bronze…heard it was a Silver & then some juror said it was scam. tsk tsk! Great work none the less. I say let that bronze tarnish & let it turn into what it should have got…MR
Pretty weak. Very scam oriented. It’s seems such a shame that huge amounts of effort still go into this kind of work. Ben and Jerry’s is such a good brand, couldn’t something have been done to bring that to life rather than putting a tiny tub of ice cream in the corner?
Don’t you just love it when people criticize work that has just won at Cannes. Like they know more than the 20 people sitting on the jury.
Thumbs up for the Bronze guys. Singapore needs all we can get at the moment.
Love this work.
The message to scam this year from Cannes is clear:
We will not shut you down because we cant and because we need your entry fees money.
But we will no longer allow you to win the biggest, best-est award with your scam efforts that make a mockery of what others slave for….mostly legitimately…all over the world. Kinda explains why there were so many bronzes and finalists for Singapore.
Great decision. Gone are the days when some scam nonsense just waltzes in and wins from under the noses of ideas like ‘best job in the world’, ‘the now network’ ‘trillion $ bill’ etc.
Some stuff will always sneak through but at least hopefully it will be really good.
God when will we wake up to fact that all this work is done for awards… of course it is not effective… but looks good.
Enjoy the win!
Well my two cents – it certainly brings the brand’s heritage to life…I was disappointed to see it was a flat ‘ad’…got all excited when I thought it might be some sort of ‘groovy’ art installation…
Very nice work! Awesome and innovative art direction. To the naysayers on this comment list, your shallow one liners are as “flat”, “car crash” and “laura and a tranny” as your own work.
These guys pushed it, and you have not.
Give more intelligent and constructive comments. Makes you look better.
I am a big fan of this ad…I love Ben and Jerry’s! (: It gets the point across in a fun and unique way. (: I love it! (: And puhlease…like y’all could do any better.
Very , very Ben & Jerry’s. That my dears is a beautifully appropriate piece of work for the brand.
Hurray for a really nice idea. Hurray for something that is meticulously and lovingly crafted. Hurray for an ‘intitiative’ ad (if it is so) that has a heart and a brain and deserves to represent the brand.
(And full disclosure of bias.. Hurray for Adrian!)
