Dani Comar moves across to OgilvyAction as their first Regional Executive Creative Director

dani comar Sml.jpgDani Comar, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia, has been appointed Regional Creative Director, OgilvyAction Asia Pacific – this is the first time the network has appointed an ECD. Comar will partner John Goodman, the recently appointed regional President, OgilvyAction Asia Pacific. A long time Ogilvy employee, Comar’s brief is to dramatically overhaul the creative product of OgilvyAction Asia Pacific, to achieve “thrilling solutions which inspire consumers to action”.

Said John Goodman; “Dani is the perfect partner for me in thisbusiness. He has a genuinely solution-neutral approach to creativeproblems, and will bring fresh eyes to a discipline which needsstunning work to set itself apart. Our measure of success is based onsales, so I was determined we had a top-class international player forthis role, and you couldn’t get better than Dani.”

Comar added, “If you look at award shows, there’s firm evidence thatthe creative game is changing. Today’s most thought-provoking ideascome in some sort of free-form advertising. Whether it’s anevent-driven campaign, a digital breakthrough or launching a globalcause, I admire the work that has a tangible effect on people’sbehaviours. It’s a bold move from John to bring an outsider. I lookforward to breaking the self-imposed boundaries of the discipline byweaving the storytelling nature of traditional advertising into theexciting new practices of activation.”

Dani’s role will become effective September 1 2009, his replacement in Malaysia will be announced shortly.
