Asia reaps 17 Silver and 22 Bronze Pencils at the AWARD Awards held last night in Sydney
Ogilvy & Mather Thailand was the star of the show from an Asian perspective at the AWARD Award presentation held last night at the striking Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney. Ogilvy Bangkok scored 7 Silver and 4 Bronze Pencils to be the second most awarded agency on the night. The agency’s 7 Silver Pencils were all for their work on Verasu Retail Co. Ltd. and the 4 Bronze Pencils were for their Anylock print campaign. They were beaten to the Agency of the Year title by Publicis Mojo Sydney.
In total Asia picked up 17 Silvers and 22 Bronze awards.
Tourism Queensland ‘The Best Job In The World’ via SapientNitro, Brisbane and Boags Draught ‘Pure Waters’ viaPublicis Mojo, Sydney were the big winners.
AWARDNetwork of the Year went to BBDO, AWARD Agency of the Year went toPublicis Mojo, Sydney and Lion Nathan was proclaimed AWARD Client ofthe Year.
Six Gold Pencils were awarded, with theoverall number of winners tallying 176, 30 less than 2008. Winnernumbers went up by four for Australia (2009: 108 winners, 2008: 104winners), New Zealand received 16 less than last year (2009: 29winners, 2008: 45 winners) and Asia went down by 18 (2009: 39 winners,2008: 57 winners).
Guests partied away at Restaurants of The Rocks, followed by an after party at SoHo Bar.
