Tutssel to head Cannes Lions juries in 2010
MarkTutssel, Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide has been namedthe Film & Press Jury President of the 2010 Cannes Lions festival.Tutssel is one of the most awarded creative directors in the industryand as the creative leader of Leo Burnett Worldwide he oversees thework of 96 global offices.
His work has garnered every majorcreative accolade, including a prestigious Cannes Grand Prix and 45Cannes Lions. Tutssel’s professional success has been rooted in hisbelief in the power of ideas and ultimately, that creativity has thepower to transform human behaviour.
Under his creative leadership, Leo Burnett has enjoyed remarkablesuccess. In 2009, Leo Burnett Worldwide was the Third Most AwardedNetwork at the Cannes International Advertising Festival as well as theNetwork of the Year at the Art Directors Club of New York and theGolden Drum Awards. In 2008, the agency was recognised for itsnew-world thinking when it topped the “All Gunns Blazing” category inthe annual Gunn Report. Also, the network was the Second Most Awardedin the world, with more creative offices contributing to its creativereputation than any other (27). The year before, Leo Burnett Worldwidewon a coveted Titanium Lion at Cannes and an unprecedented two GrandClios in Television and Outdoor. In 2006, the network was the mostawarded global agency at D&AD, winning the first-ever covetedD&AD Black Pencil in Digital and five D&AD Yellow Pencils.
Prior to becoming Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, Tutssel was ExecutiveCreative Director of Leo Burnett London. Charged with the task oftapping into the creative potential of the agency, he led Leo BurnettLondon to become the United Kingdom’s number one creative agency and,in 2001, was the World’s Most Awarded. During that time, bothMcDonald’s and Heinz were named advertiser of the year in the UK byCampaign Magazine.
Tutssel has had the honour of chairing the world’s greatest award shows,including the Cannes Titanium & Integrated Jury, Eurobest, Spikes,the Clio’s, the International Andy Awards and D&AD.
This year, Campaign Magazine named Tutssel the No.1 worldwide creativedirector, earning the title of top global Creative Crusader.
