Asia Spikes backflip – Australia and New Zealand agencies now eligible to enter competition

Hot on the heels of AdFest’s announcement to postpone their Festival comes SpikesAsia’s announcement of its dates for this year’s eventas 19-22 September 2010. The big change this year is that Spikes Asia will once again allow entry participation from Australia and New Zealand. TheFestival will return to Suntec Singapore and will coincide with theweek of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, giving those who wish to attendthe race the opportunity of staying on.

The presidents of the juries will be announced in the coming weeks. Innovations for 2010 will include:

Australia & New Zealand eligible to enter

Following consultation with the industry, Spikes Asia will once againwelcome entry participation from Australia and New Zealand. This was a major discussion topic at last year’s event with the two joint organisers (Cannes and Haymarket) disagreeing over the decision to halt entries from Australia and New Zealand.

Young Spikes Media Competition

To complement the existing Young Spikes Integrated Competition, new to2010 is the Young Spikes Media Competition, which will challenge teamsto develop an innovative media strategy. The teams will work to a briefpresented by a charity or non-profit organisation, whose name,objectives, strategies and target audience remain secret until they aredisclosed at the briefing session. The competing teams will have toprepare their submission in the form of a short presentation which willthen be presented to and judged by a panel of top media experts.

Young Marketers Registration

To encourage and support young professionals in the fields of marketingand communication working for marketing organisations and clientcompanies, a reduced registration fee will be available allowing themto benefit from the unique learning opportunity Spikes Asia has tooffer.
