JWT Singapore and O&M Singapore pick up Gold Pencils at The One Show last night

The One Club announced the Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencil winners last night at the 35th Annual One Show. The ceremony, which took place at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, saw both JWT Singapore and O&M Singapore walk off with Gold Pencils. JWT Singapore also added two Silver Pencils to their haul, whilst O&M Singapore also managed a Silver and two Bronze Pencils.
JWT’s Gold and one of their Silver awards was for their WWF ‘Noughts and Crosses’ print campaign (see above) – a Gold Lion winner last year. Their second Silver was for Canele Patisserie ‘Equally Sweet, Equally Dark’ campaign.
All O&M Singapore’s Pencils were for their Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream print and poster campaign (see below).

The only other winners from Asia were BBDO Singapore, with a Silver Pencil for Mercedes ‘Brake Assist Plus’, and two Silver Pencils to Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai for SeventyMM ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Avatar’.
“This year’s One Show winners truly reflect the global nature of today’s creativity,” said Mary Warlick, CEO of The One Club. “Advertising is now shared and viewed all around the world, and the work that was awarded tonight showcased brilliant marketing solutions that transcended borders.”
This year’s Green Pencil Award, which recognizes outstanding work that is environmentally friendly or smart, was presented by leading eco-lifestyle expert Danny Seo, to the Berghs School of Communication and Stockholm University in Sweden. The students were recognized for their outstanding creative concept for MillionTreesNYC, a program with a goal to plant and care for one million trees across New York City’s five boroughs over the next decade. This was the first time student work has been recognized with a Green Pencil.
“Best of Show” was presented to BBH/London for the Johnnie Walker short film, “The Man Who Walked Around the World.” This six-minute film was shot in one continuous take and stars Scottish actor Robert Carlyle.
Proctor & Gamble was named “Client of the Year” for pushing the boundaries of creativity and taking risks with work including Old Spice “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” and “Zack Johnson” for Tampax.

All Singapore 🙂
No Malaysia, no Bangkok, no China 🙁
Absolutely farcical. JWT’s WWF an old idea. Yet it still gets awarded? Cracking down – I’m sure they are
The judges never saw this then

All Adrian Chan.
Relax…they are all in the merit section.
So much for the crackdown on the scam
One Show is a joke.
Who judged from Asia?
I guess the juries are all busy rubbing shoulders and scratching each other’s back.
Well done winners. Both for your success and being brave enough to enter One Show. I much prefer the Ben + Jerrys campaign to WWF campaign.
2.10 how the hell are the american judges meant to know that this idea has been done before? All they can do is judge from their own perspective. It won at Cannes so they are not alone in voting for it. Also I think One Show is voting without discussion so this would never even come up.
Ogilvy Singapore Rocks!
1.50 PM Are you serious? You’re saying it’s ‘OK’ to rip off work that’s already been done before? And it’s obviously ripped off, they didn’t even bother changing the line – it’s exactly the same word for word.
Shame on you.
