Oh my God what happened and what should I do? Innovative Thunder’s guide for the digital era
This book helps traditional advertising and marketing people master the step into the digital era, providing tools to create campaigns that reach the people of today. It was not written by a CMO giving expensive seminars and presenting big theories with no solutions, but by a creative team dealing with and living the changes in media every day. The team, Innovative Thunder, specializes in innovative marketing and has gathered experience by working with three of the world’s leading marketing agencies – Jung von Matt, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, as well as currently, R/GA, New York.

Wow this is gold, thanks.
This is hilarious.
The author is writing about something that people were predicting fifteen years ago and has unknowingly hopped on an abandoned bandwagon out in the middle of Death Valley, broken down and surrounded by tumbleweeds. Half a decade ago we’ve come to realize that we lose more clients when we let media dictate brand, and so we’re back to thinking analog (or rather focusing first on – drum roll please – ideas) and getting e-mails from people who’ve lost their jobs in digital.
So to you out-of-date geeks who don’t agree and people who work in one of the numerous Ogilvy “Specialty Boutiques” that keep popping up on a monthly basis who unfortunately don’t have a choice but to disagree (the next one will no doubt be Mrs Ogilvy, the housewife specialist boutique and Señor Ogilvy to cater to the growing Hispanic market LMAO) by all means read this book and please keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve been nothing but helpful in landing us new business.
: )
Whatever.
Im just grateful someone took the time to write that ‘book’ which has a few nuggets of common sense that you don’t normally hear in singapore agencies that profess to operate in the new digital space, but have the same analog senior executives that have no idea except to say with great poise…’lets do a 360 on this one’.

Common sense in Singapore? LOL.
If I were you, I’d move. Creatives who think still think they have a great career ahead of them by doing scams are either in Bangkok or Singapore. The only agencies that hire these schmucks are in Bangkok and Singapore. The rest of the world has moved on my son.
Yes. The ‘digital’ space in Singapore is populated by clapped-out DM hacks who have been given a new lease of life by the ‘digital revolution’. They have gone seamlessly from doing shit-that-folds to digital shit-that-folds, but by throwing out enough jargon in meetings (UGC anyone?) they have made themselves seem central. To something.
These are the guys who will warble on about how great Old Spice is for harvesting tweets and using Youtube, while completely missing the significance and centrality of a great idea and brilliant TVC to the campaign. They’ll bitch about printosauruses while failing to come up with a single memorable idea themselves.
Meanwhile the ATL agencies produce bottom of the barrel retail for paying clients, and stay late to work on the scams that Singapore’s illusionary creative rep is based on.
You left out KL.
