JWT Shanghai strengthens digital offering with Johan Wong joining as Director of Digital Strategy

JohanWong.jpgJWT Shanghai has appointed Johan Wong as Director of Digital Strategy, JWT Interactive, effective immediately. In this role, Wong will partner with Fei Wei, Senior Creative Director and will be tasked with further strengthening JWT’s digital offering. He reports to Eric Lee, JWT Shanghai General Manager and Donald Chan, China CEO.

 

Before joining JWT Shanghai, Wong held the position of Chief Digital Officer for Leo Burnett / Arc Hong Kong, responsible for enhancing and integrating its digital capabilities, thus providing clients with a truly holistic advertising communications solution. Prior, in 2007, he was based in Shanghai working with startup company, In-Game Media, a media/interactive agency exploring online games as a media platform.

As one of the few pioneers in the new media arena, Wong has won numerous digital awards for clients such as Adidas, Hutchison 3, PUMA, Dell Alienware, Yahoo! and PCCW.

 

Donald Chan, JWT China CEO commented on his appointment: “Johan brings a unique combination of skills–including account management, digital strategy and creative–to digital media planning and measurement. We believe he will raise JWT Interactive to a new level of success.”

 

GavinHu.jpgAlong with Wong’s appointment, JWT Shanghai has announced Gavin Hu will be taking up the role of Senior Account Director on digital solution. Hu (pictured left) has rich experience in both Above The Line and digital account management from both JWT and digital outfits such as Sina.

 

Founded in 2006, JWT Interactive is a digital unit of JWT Shanghai, made up of a full team of individuals who cover project management, account services, and creative. They provide a full range of interactive services to a fast growing roster of clients which includes, KFC, Pizza Hut, HSBC and Air New Zealand, among others.
