Ogilvy & Mather Thailand has released new print executions to highlight what’s involved in the display of ivory carvings. The hard-hitting print campaign was photographed and retouched by Illusion, Bangkok.

More scam from Ogilvy if they had actually done any research they would have found that the Ivory trade is becoming a necessary EVIL in order to keep Elephant numbers down. Why? Anti-poaching has been so successful that the numbers of Elephants in reserves has grown exponentially and they are now decimating the Parks and destroying the eco-systems. In South Africa in the Kruger Park they are being culled to prevent this.
So OGILVY instead of banging on about an issue which is under control why not think about what really needs break through, results driven ideas like saving Tigers and Sharks. Not saving your AWARDS bank.
Lastly like the recent UPS ad this execution is borrowed…
Firstly I think this is aimed at protecting thailand’s elephant population not Africa’s. Secondly killing animals whose numbers are up is a ridiculous idea….why not kill a few humans too….I think there’s far too many than we need on this planet anyway!
But more importantly this ad is a rather huge drop from the lovely axe ad from the same agency that said ‘keep chopping’. The irony of that ad was stunning and so simple.
This one has gone kinda awry….just look at the headline…could you get any more preachy….I guess not….maybe its a translation from thai but its a poor one.
This will be lucky to win anything at all.
The typo is of yesteryear.
