London International Awards release shortlists – Japan leads Asian region with 23 finalists. Thailand is the next best performer with 11
Japan leads the way for Asia at the shortlist stage of the London International Awards. Japanese agencies have a total of 23 of Asia’s combined total of 53 shortlists which were released today following 10 days of judging that concluded last week at the Encore hotel in Las Vegas.
Dentsu Inc Tokyo with 6 shortlists and Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo with 4 were the best performers along with the Hakuhodo group which had three divisions pick up 2 shortlists each (Hakuhodo Tokyo, Hakuhodo Kettle Tokyo and TBWA/Hakuhodo Tokyo).
Also performing well at this shortlist stage was Thailand, who had a combined total of 11 shortlists. Leading the way were O&M Bangkok and Creative Juice Bangkok with 4 and 3 shortlists respectively. India was the next best performing country with 8 shortlists, lead by Leo Burnett Mumbai with 3.
Other countries to figure were: The Philippines with 5 shortlists (3 to ACE Saatchi & Saatchi), Singapore with 4 (3 to Y&R Singapore) and China, Hong Kong and Indonesia with 3 shortlists each. Malaysia and Vietnam scored 1 each.
Australasia performed well with Australia netting 42 shortlists and New Zealand 7.

The presentations of statues will be held in London at the special LIA 25th anniversary party on November 8th at Troxy.
