Translocation.jpgTranslocation is a book of unique and intriguing photographs by award-winning photographer George Logan, represented in Asia by Redorfe. With warmth and humour, these poignant images bring together Scotland’s dramatic landscape with the beauty and fragility of Africa’s wildlife and will be sold in aid of International Wildlife Charity, the Born Free Foundation.

Born Free founder and actress, Virginia McKenna OBE, said, “There are many wonderful wildlife photographers, but George’s images are amongst the most intriguing, thought-provoking and original.”

The collection of photographs were over five years in the making, with Logan traveling extensively throughout Africa to capture wild animals in their natural habitats, covering Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and even Europe. The landscape shots were closer to home, taking in the photographer’s homeland of Scotland and the wild coastlines of Cornwall. To complete the collection, Logan’s journey took him from places as diverse as the Isle of Skye to the Okavango Delta, from Ardnamurchan to the Kalahari Desert.

Inevitably this is a personal and heartfelt body of work, George said, “As a boy I’d tell tall tales to classmates and claim that I’d been raised on an African farm, surrounded by all sorts of exotic wildlife. It had me imagining how these creatures would appear in the rural Scottish landscapes I was familiar with. This project has allowed me to explore those early fantasies.”

Translocation is a collaboration between George Logan, the Born Free Foundation, and Hewlett Packard Indigo, who see it as the perfect opportunity to showcase their premium digital printing. Hewlett Packard has generously donated their time and resources to this project, which uniquely means that every penny from every book sold will go to the Born Free Foundation. Funds raised will be dedicated to Born Free’s new wildlife rescue, conservation and education centre, Ensessakotteh, in Ethiopia.

Logan’s list of advertising clients includes AT&T, Corona, Ribena, O2, Nokia, Orange, Audi, Yamaha, Mercedes, Michelin, Shell, Eurostar, Royal Bank of Scotland, British Airways, Qantas, New Balance, Microsoft, 1664 and Battersea Dogs’ Home. You can view his work on the Redorfe website
