Terence Ling joins TBWA\Hong Kong to drive the agency’s strategy offering to clients
TBWA\Hong Kong has appointed Terence Ling as Planning Director. Ling will oversee all aspects of strategic planning in Hong Kong, working across the company’s major clients, including Standard Chartered Bank, adidas, Visa and Levi’s. In this capacity Ling will lead Disruption and Media Arts, TBWA’s global strategic planning methodology. In the agency’s truly integrated spirit, Ling will lead planning across all agency disciplines, including brand, communications and digital strategy, to best support client needs.
Commenting on the appointment, Joanne Lao, Managing Director, TBWA\Hong Kong, said: “We are delighted to welcome Terence to TBWA. He is strategic, entrepreneurial, and digitally oriented: a truly modern strategist who understands the changing marketing landscape. Terence is a proponent of brand behavior across every consumer touch point and channel.”
Ling has had a successful track record working in both client-side and agency roles. He joins TBWA\Hong Kong from Ogilvy & Mather, where he served as a Senior Strategic Planner, contributing to successful campaigns for Mercedes-Benz, MTR, and KFC, which include recent wins at the IPA Effectiveness Awards, the Asian Marketing Effectiveness (AME) Awards and the EFFIE Awards. Previously, Ling worked at PCCW as a Marketing Manager for the Netvigator business.
Ling commented: “Every marketer knows that 2011 will be the year ripe for business and marketing transformation, yet surprisingly few are partnered with the strategic and creative talent ready for it. TBWA’s proprietary combat techniques – Disruption and Media Arts – equip brands to find opportunity in an ever-changing marketplace. I feel honored to join a team of black-belts, and I’m eager to ignite disruptive results for our clients and brands.”
