BBH brings world’s leading Digital University – Hyper Island – to Asia for master classes
BBH Asia Pacific is bringing the world’s leading digital university, Hyper Island, to Singapore – making it a first for Asia. Founded in Sweden in 1995, Hyper Island has been dubbed the ‘the world’s digital Harvard’ and has now established offices in Stockholm, New York and London, trained over 1500 graduates, and developed tailor-made master classes for creative professionals across Europe and the US.
Hyper Island will conduct its radical Master Class for the entire Agency and along with BBH, will co-host a ‘Meet Market’ workshop – to be attended by a cross-section of BBH Clients and collaborators – representing Singapore’s creative community.
BBH has a longstanding relationship with Hyper Island, having hosted four Master Classes and ‘Meet Market’ sessions at its’ London and New York offices. Based in a disused naval prison in the small town of Karlskrona, Stockholm, a major part of Hyper Island’s success is based on its unconventional teaching methods of no course materials or a formal curriculum. Using only interactive communications, courses focus on areas that include exploring the digital landscape, creative problem solving, group dynamic processes and the use of interactive media as a tool for achieving higher growth and ensuring long term success.
“Hyper Island can only be a great thing for our creative output and our Clients,” Said Frances Great, Managing Director, BBH Asia Pacific. “We are learning from the best, and feel fortunate to be the first to bring this digital learning phenomenon to Asia, “
A team of four speakers, including Co-Founder Jonathan Briggs, will run the Singapore workshops.
The Hyper Island Master Class is an intensive three-day program for creative industry professionals that are tailored specifically for the brand/marketing, advertising and media industry across creative businesses who want to strengthen their digital knowledge and challenge their existing approach to digital and interactive communications.
The ‘Meet Market’ workshop will feature -The Importance of Social Media in today’s Communication world – and explore the landscape of how Social Media is changing branding, and the urgency of digital/360 degree implementation.
Said Hyper Island Co-founder Jonathan Briggs: “We are excited to take Hyper Island to Asia for the first time, partly to explore our unique style of teaching as well as learning and to connect with the advertising and digital industry there.”
Hyper Island students have a track record of being wooed by companies such as Apple, Google and IDEO, while its Master Classes attract top level executives from the world’s leading creative agencies.
