Euro RSCG get a new CCO on Global Brands

Garfinkel.jpgLee Garfinkel, the former chief creative officer of DDB New York, is joining Euro RSCG as chief creative officer, global brands. Garfinkel will be based in New York and will work alongside president of global brands, Matt Ryan, on worldwide accounts, such as ExxonMobil, Jaguar, Reckitt Benckiser and Kraft Foods. He starts this week, reporting to David Jones, global CEO of the Havas agency – he will be overseeing creative on these brands globally, including Asia.

Garfinkel has spent his career developing creative and results-driven campaigns, most recently as chairman and chief creative officer of DDB New York. During his tenure at DDB, Garfinkel was also the architect of the New York agency’s first digital group.

Prior to joining DDB, he served as the president and chief creative officer of D’Arcy Worldwide where he helped rejuvenate well-known brands like Crest and Cadillac. He also spent eight years with Lowe U.S. where he was the agency’s chairman, CEO and chief creative officer, during which time he helped turn around Lowe’s U.S. creative profile while driving significant new business. He got his start as a copywriter at Levine, Huntley, Schmidt & Beaver in New York and, over an eleven-year period, rose through the ranks to become the agency’s executive creative director.
