Judges announced for AWARD: Tay Guan Hin to lead the Print, Poster, Outdoor & Ambient jury
Ninetyof Asia Pacific’s most fertile minds have been tasked with selectingthis year’s hotly contested AWARD awards, celebrating the region’s mostbrilliant creative endeavours.
The Awards presentation eventwill take place on Friday 25 February at CarriageWorks Sydney – theculmination of The Communications Council’s Festival of CommercialCreativity ‘Circus’ (February 22-25).
Chairmen of the individual juries are Chris Doyle, Interbrand (Design),Rob Galuzzo, The Finch Group (Craft in Film), Tay Guan Hin, JWT SouthEast Asia (Print, Poster, Outdoor & Ambient), Iain McDonald,Amnesia Razorfish (Digital), Duncan Marshall, Droga5 (Film &Video), Noah Regan, Three Drunk Monkeys (Print Craft), Paul Nagy,Clemenger BBDO (Radio), and Dylan Taylor, BMF Sydney (Direct).
In addition to Tay Guan Hin Asia is also represented by Jureeporn Thaidumrong from JEH United Bangkok (Film & Video Panel), Yang Yeo from JWT Shanghai (DM Panel) and Rob Campbell from Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai (Creative Innovation & Integrated Panel).
“Each of these jury chairmen has a history of advancing the creativedebate and helping clients see the wisdom of great creative work,” saidCraig Davis, AWARD Chairman.
“It’s a formidable group that will work without fear or favour, guided by the vision of Erik Vervroegen, Chairman of Judges.”
The re-engineered AWARD programme has been moved from its usual slot inNovember to accommodate an expanded programme, reflecting the growingimportance of creativity to business, economies and society.
New award categories have been added, including music video,applications, social media, environmental design, and branded content.There is also a newly-introduced award for Creative Innovation, torecognise creative that defies categorisation.
Another dimension of AWARD’s expansion is the Communications Council’s’Circus’ – a three day programme leading up to AWARD night. On the 23rdof February ‘Circus’ presents a stunning line-up of local andinternational speakers in packed day of creative inspiration.
Michael Ritchie, deputy chair of AWARD and member of the CommunicationsCouncil Board, said that ‘Circus’ would be unmissable. “This line-upis cracker – probably better than you’ll get at any single day inCannes,” he said.
