Marcus Rebeschini is going to have a busy time of it over the next couple of months. Y&R Regional chief creative officer has been invited to sit on the awards panels for Cannes, Clio and the New York Festivals.
Rebeschini will represent Asia on the Outdoor Jury at Cannes, the Print / Out of Home / Innovative Media and Direct Mail jury at Clio and join with about 35-40 others on the Executive Jury at the NY Festivals.

Marcus is a great guy and a great creative. So don’t misconstrue this. But this is one problem with the awards show circuit- same judges on multiple shows, year after year. Whats the point of paying to have your work judged by the same guy or girl multiple times.
He does have a valid point.
I’ve often thought about this, and truthfully I think judging should be done by one set of judges for all shows. This panel at minimum should have at least 15+ years experience in the industry. Why? Because this actually will help avoid duplication and they won’t be awarding ideas we’ve seen 5 years ago and even 10 years ago. How many, many times have we seen creative ideas and thought ‘that was done before by blah blah blah, etc. etc.’ This would ensure ‘innovation’. This would push the younger creatives forward.
Of course this would mean ‘judging’ becoming an almost full-time job. If pro athletes do it, why can’t we?
I agree Marcus very amazing, but he is part of the Granger clan and with him and Granger as the head of juries, is this going to be the Y&R show????
Sweet guy, his work is both real and awardwinning. But the awardwinning stuff isnt real and the real stuff isnt awardwinning.
With so many shows on his schedule, how can Y&R be happy about this? He should be judging real work for his real clients.
You are being very mischievous 1.32. As you know Y&R would be pleased as punch that Marcus is on these juries. Just as you would be if you were to be invited.
Marcus is a great choice. Good eyes, astute and fair. Awesome bloke as well.
Does this mean we’ll see the third sequel of Sphere Action Figures?
Hey Marcus, I see you’ve pissed off a few people. Ahahahaha. Without sounding like Miss Helena from Romper Room, I see there’s a few ex-employees in there. Congrats on the appointment you lucky bastard 😉
Agree with 11.44. When you look at who has judged in the past Marcus is more than worthy of sitting on these juries.
C’mon 12.01pm…Sphere Action!? Marcus has won metals you could only dream of with so many other post-sphere work. Sounds like a jealous ex colleague to me…
