AdFest Agency of the Year is Dentsu Tokyo; Network of the Year goes to DDB

JimmyJojiVinit.jpgDentsu, Tokyo was crowned Agency of the Year at AdFest 2011. It was a strong performance from Japan’s largest agency accross all categories at AdFest.

It the other special awards from the night Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo was named Interactive Agency of the Year; Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne picked up Direct & Promo Agency of the Year; and DDB took out the prestigious Network of the Year title – thanks to the strong performances of DDB Singapore, DDB China Group, DDB New Zealand and DDB Melbourne. John Zeigler, Chairman & CEO of DDB Group Asia Pacific, Japan and India said, “The recognition we received at AdFest was phenomenal. Winning 24 metals is a record haul for us. In fact it’s more than the last two years combined!”

“DDB China Group’s famous ‘Green Pedestrian’ picked up a Gold and a ‘best’ in outdoor – proving once again it is one of the most impressive campaigns that came out of Asia last year. However, it was DDB Group Singapore’s performance that really secured our number one position by bagging 12 medals and five finalists – including ‘best’ press campaign  and two golds for  ‘Coin Landscapes’ for Rough Guide Budget travel guide, as well as eight silvers and one bronze.”

Nike was awarded Advertiser of the Year and Phenomena Bangkok was named Film Production Company of the Year.
