Only 11? That’s one tough jury. With Neil onboard, I guess it’s no surprise.
Love watching that Carlton beer film.
Deserving of every award it receives.
Silver to Ogilvy Shanghai!
Thanks, Kim, for not mentioning the Grands Prix! The one was a total aberration, and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t persuade the jury to choose something else. ‘Slo-mo’, The Daichi ‘Swimmers’ spot (the favourite among the kids who were running the judging), or the under-awarded ‘Dad’s Love’ were all contenders in my book. The Sementary film from Manila deserved better, too. But then, as the Puerto Rican judge just commented on FB, that’s democracy.
As to ‘tough’s comment; The show is free to enter, consequently people unload their garbage, and since anything that is free is, by definition, worthless, I’d guess that a lot of good stuff just wasn’t entered. In fact, I know it wasn’t.
