MEChas appointed Christian Guinot as their new President for MEC China. He replaces Michelle Ko who recently stepped down. Guinot will report to Stephen Li and Bessie Lee, GroupM China CEO and join MEC’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee.

Guinot has 23 years of experience in the media industry and has been Managing Director of MEC Russia since 2007. He moved to Russia from MEC UK where he was Managing Partner in the Global Solutions team, running Daimler Chrysler and Danone across Europe for three years.  Prior to his career at MEC, Christian has worked for MPG and MediaCom and Euro RSCG.

As MD of Russia, Guinot oversaw the rise of MEC from number 6 to number 1 in four years, winning over $250 million of new business in the last 18 months alone and extending key client relationships across the CIS region.

Stephen Li said, “In Christian we are extremely fortunate to have someone with such strong skills and reputation within our company.  I am confident that with Christian’s knowledge and experience he will re-energise our operations, creating positive change for the agency. Christian has done a fantastic job as CEO MEC Russia and understands the opportunities available in a growing economy, so the decision for him to become President in China was an easy one.  I’m delighted that he’s accepted the challenge to take China to the heights it deserves.”

“This is truly an honor and I’m absolutely fired up to get change moving throughout the agency.  We have a fantastic opportunity to focus and organize and move MEC China into a leadership position in the world’s most exciting market,” said Guinot.
