AdFest appoints Stanley Wong as Jury President of the Design Lotus and Print Craft Lotus

Stanley Wong, the multi-talented creative director, graphic designer, interior designer, photographer, film director and artist, is joining AdFest 2012 as Jury President of the Design Lotus and Print Craft Lotus.

Wong (left), who is also known under the alias ‘AnotherMountainMan‘, began his career as a graphic designer before joining the advertising industry for 15 years. In 1996, he became the first Chinese to undertake an overseas position in the Asian Advertising Industry when he left Hong Kong and joined Bartle Bogle Hegarty (Asia Pacific) in Singapore as Regional Creative Director. He returned to Hong Kong in 1999 as CEO and Executive Creative Director of TBWA\Hong Kong.

“As a visual creative person, I am passionate about ideas that are inspired by local cultures, and works that stand for Place and Time, alongside economical values, social values or even more,” said Wong. “I’m looking forward to reviewing the design works from Asia this year, and observing the phenomenon of the Asia Pacific design scene, the movement and happenings: what is creative at this point in time? And why do we create?”

In 2000, Wong decided to turn his talents to TVC direction, joining joined Centro Digital as Chief Creative Officer/Film Director. In 2002, he set up his own production company, threetwoone film production limited, which has since produced over 200 commercials.

Wong’s ‘redwhiteblue’ artworks have featured at the 51st Venice Biennale, zkm in germany, and were selected for the permanent collections in various galleries like the V&A Museum in London and the Hong Kong Museum. Collectors of his works reach far beyond Hong Kong.

In 2004, Wong was inducted into the Alliance Graphique Internationale, a club of the world’s leading graphic designers.
