Ogilvy Shanghai highlights innovations inspired by nature’s most basic elements for Philips
Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Shanghai has rolled out a series of TVCs for Philips China as the first phase of its Greater China branding campaign. The series consists of four TV commercials that illustrate how Philips’ innovative health and well-being products incorporate natural elements such as air, temperature, space and light to improve and simplify people’s daily lives.
The spots show Chinese consumers how Philips integrates natural elements such as air into meaningful innovations that range from the AirFloss (an oral hygiene product that uses new-to-the-world microburst air technology to clean between teeth) to the AirFryer (a kitchen appliance that makes tasty fried food with little to no oil). One TVC demonstrates how a Philips rice cooker and ActiveCare hairdryer (the only dryer in the market that uses sensor technology to prevent overheating and overdrying) can manipulate temperature to create products that simplify busy routines and mundane chores.
Francis Wee, Executive Creative Director of O&M Advertising Shanghai, said, “What we hope to do with the creative is to show modern Chinese consumers how innovative the Philips brand is. As urban consumers become increasingly desensitized to their natural surroundings and take simple things for granted, it’s exciting when they realize that Philips integrates nature’s most basic elements into cutting edge, technologically advanced products that can improve and simplify their lives in ways that they likely have not imagined.”

Ogilvy’s PR machine is its own worst enemy.
Best to keep this quality of work on the low profile.
Way to go Finky.
Quality work.
Really making leaps and bounds up there…
Makes sense why they do so much scam work…the real stuff is horrible.
Wonder how long it is before Khai flies directly to Shanghai to have a talk with the ECDs?
1st campaign and it’s this bad? wow.
i take it graham never looked at it? is this what happens when francis is in charge?
That’s one of my top 5 worst ads of all time.
Graham, it isn’t very good at all is it…
Meow meow meow…I love the sheer pettiness of people. Yes, the ad is absolutely crap, but if they choose to showcase it and some client (less creative-guru-like than you people, obviously (Obviously!)), who’s to say, eh?
