Zayn Khan named CEO at Futurebrand
FutureBrand has appointed Zayn Khan as CEO Asia Pacific. The appointment brings Khan (left) to Shanghai from Kuala Lumpur, where he has been based since 2002, most recently serving as CEO and partner at Thinkscape. He will report directly to Patrick Smith, CEO FutureBrand Worldwide.
Khan has significant experience in building brands and shaping marketing strategy across a wide range of industries. While at Thinkscape, Khan set the company on a new vision and built a strong consulting offering to complement the company’s design and architecture practices, leading the team to win major new business in government, telecommunications, banking, beauty and entertainment industries in both Asia and the Middle East.
Earlier in his career, Khan held positions in WPP at The Brand Union in London and Hill+Knowlton Strategies in San Francisco before joining Ogilvy & Mather to lead strategic planning in Malaysia. A quick succession of promotions saw him named Head of Country in 2007, where he successfully led the team to achieve award-winning results, before being appointed business strategy director for South and Southeast Asia. As business strategy director, Khan played a keyrole in shaping the agency’s suite of strategic consulting services.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Zayn to the FutureBrand team,” said Smith. “His history of results-driven leadership and strong understanding of cross-cultural nuances will be of immense value to our operations and client work in Asia. I look forward to working with him and am confident in his ability to take FutureBrand to the next level in this exciting, dynamic region.”
