Leo Burnett creative team to represent India at the Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition
Harshvardhan Tanwar and Vasanth Clement Ebenezer from Leo Burnett Mumbai have won the AAAI Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition.
The duo (pictured Harshvardhan on left and Vasanth on right) beat 226 other entries on a brief to discourage people from using cell phones while driving and now will represent India in the Young Lions competition at this year’s Festival. See the winning work below. The competition is run by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and supported by The Times Group.
Josy Paul, chairman and national creative director at BBDO India, and Sonal Dabral, chief creative officer at DDB Mudra were part of the judging panel.

Well done gentlemen, at least a different approach. Good luck in Cannes, and do India proud!
Agree, that is refreshing. Well done.
What if someone needs to call you in an emergency?
Then they can wait…just like folks did before mobile phones were invented.
That sounds cool but I wonder what are it’s practical applications because the person who wants to use the phone while driving will not install it in the first place and the person who actually bothers to install it is probably aware enough of the risks of using the phone while driving…
The device is fictitious and not meant to be taken literally. It’s merely an interesting and provocative way to highlight the fact that 44,000 people die due to mobile phone use (not going to comment on accuracy of figure.) There is no “Jamit”. That is the ad concept.
