Akihiko Kubo named President of Ogilvy & Mather Japan GK; Kent Wertime elevated to Chairman

Akihiko Kubo is to take up the position of President of Ogilvy & Mather Japan GK, effective September 1st. Kent Wertime, the current president, will take the post of Chairman.

It is the first time there has been a Japanese president of O&M Japan. Kubo joined Ogilvy Japan as Executive Vice President in May this year. His career spans nearly three decades in the industry.

Wertime will continue to be based in Tokyo and focus on the growth of the Ogilvy & Mather Japan Group as Chairman and as COO of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific.
