Impressionist view of the streets of Singapore

Specially created, textured glass panes were installed in windows in malls, restaurants and public spaces to promote Vue Privee Gallery.
The idea created by JWT Singapore was to transform ordinary views of Singapore to organic, beautiful impressionist paintings. Mundane details, objects and colours distorted to mimic swirling paint strokes and transient light effects reminiscent of impressionist art.

A photoshop filter easily does it. But what is the point of all these? If the scenery is good enough, it wouldn’t need to be transformed into a painting. Painting doesn’t make it any better.
A masterstroke in deception.
Interesting thought – I like the fact of creating these visual effects without any technology
Nice use of ambient! Love the simplicity of it all!
Very nice, So simple and smart
This is real – I saw it in Little India like 4 month ago – looks good in reality
This picked up a big nothing at Cannes. Maybe spikes jury (jwt has a few judges on it) will be kinder.
It confused the hell outta me….is it meant to sell art pieces? No.
Is it meant to sell an art gallery? How?
By tarting up some views of Singapore.
These guys have no idea how the art business works.
Simple idea and lovely result. It doesn’t look like a big client, but the idea is relevant and new for the promotion of an art gallery. Good job guys.
Art to promote art… Nice. I would be curious to see an all photography project with this technic…
Never saw that before, but if it’s gonna be at Spikes, I would definitely see it as a winner
If this gallery sells water colour landscapes, this is quite brilliant. If it sells expensive and eclectic art, this is a dud.
On second thought, it’s a nice piece.
Sorry I reacted so strongly in my earlier comment.
Apologize!
This is so good it needs to be in MOMA or the Smithsonian.
First I went cool, but then i realised it’s no big deal. Not as fresh as I thot. Must have been all that free coffees I drank that got me excited. Sorries.
