Leo Burnett Malaysia hires Michelle Ong as COO

Michelle-2.jpgLeo Burnett Malaysia and its sister division Arc Worldwide has appointed Michelle Ong as its new Chief Operating Officer.

On Ong’s appointment, Tan Kien Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Leo Burnett Group Malaysia said, “Our growth has exceeded expectations and has almost doubled that of an already large scale agency in the last 5 years. We are strengthening our management team to ensure that we have the best people to take us to the next level and Michelle’s experience and knowledge will certainly be a plus in maintaining the company’s growth”.

Ong will be overseeing operations, focusing on reinventing workflow processes to ensure Leo Burnett & Arc Worldwide Malaysia’s delivery of world class work and speed to market. She will be collaborating with counterparts in Leo Burnett Singapore, so that best in class methodologies can be applied in Malaysia and subsequently across the sub-region. With her vast experience on MNC, Ong will support the Leo Burnett’s brand team, focusing on key MNC brands such as McDonald’s, Philip Morris, Dutch Lady Malaysia, and Procter & Gamble.

With over 20 years of solid communications experience building a diverse range of brands, Ong’s established career in advertising has seen her work with a number of prominent agencies  including Ogilvy & Mather and McCann Worldgroup, culminating in her appointment as Managing Director of McCann Indonesia. She was also previously with Leo Burnett Malaysia and Taiwan in various roles.
