The Agency was awarded the Agency Of The Year accolade after it scooped two Grand Prix, three Golds, one Silver and a bronze.

The first Grand Prix was given to the Campaign for the NUJP (National Union Of Journalists in the Philippines) whose dramatic “Closed Eyes” campaign in The Philippine Daily Inquirer had acted as an act of remembrance and call for justice for the 57 people (of which 33 were journalists) murdered in Maguindanao.

This work also won gold in the Print-led Integrated Campaign category.

The other Grand Prix winner was also from BBDO Guerrero – their multi-award winning campaign for Saridon. The “Persistent Headaches” campaign was awarded gold in both Single and Campaign Consumer category. Previously the Saridon work for Bayer Philippines had been feted at Cannes, at Spikes Asia and at the London International Awards.

David Guerrero, (pictured) Chairman and Chief Creative Officer at BBDO Guerrero | Proximity Philippines said, “Although both of these campaigns have very different tones of voice, they were both created very much to appeal viscerally to the print audience. The effect is meant to startle and surprise and we are naturally thrilled that the judges chose to recognize both campaigns’ understanding of the medium”.

Other Gold winners were Leo Burnett Manila for WWF; DDB Philippines’ “Pacquiao Positive” campaigns won two golds and Draftfcb Manila’s “Help Japan” also took home a gold.
