SMA launches new CSR Award in its nineth year
2013 marks the nineth presentation of the annual Singapore Media Awards (SMA). Over the years, SMA remains as Singapore’s pinnacle award for media professionals and has provided a national platform for an annual culmination of the best talents and thought leaders in the media industry.
This year, in an effort to further elevate the stature of the advertising, media & marketing communications industry, SMA will be launching The CSR Award to honour campaigns that are brilliantly conceived and driven by a superbly executed media strategy to support a corporate responsibility initiative by the client.
“Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) is on the agenda of all organizations. Social and environmental responsibility is increasingly being positioned as a basis for sustainable management and no longer as an action of charity, ordinary philanthropy and moral values.
A responsible business practice gives an organization a strategic competitive advantage that binds and allows for interdependence of the cultural values amongst an organization’s employees, customers, stakeholders, suppliers and shareholders. The cause of CSR goes beyond the ethos of existence in the corporate world, the markets the organization operates in to the environment as a whole.
The aim to weave the CSR context with Media Awards is to mirror responsible existence, giving a value conscious and encouraging ethically oriented media content. The CSR Award aims to champion a new wave of corporate social responsibility within the advertising, media & marketing
communication industry, recognizing both the business and societal values of marketing communications campaigns.
Entries are open from Monday 27th May 2013 and close on Friday 26th June 2013, 5.00pm.
Judging takes place on Tuesday 30th July 2013, with the Awards Dinner on Thursday 29th August 2013.
