Jeffery Cheng (pictured top left) has been named National Head of Social@Ogilvy, a cross-discipline team of social experts from across all of O&M China’s businesses, and Emiko Nagai (pictured bottom left) joins the company as Regional Business Director of O&M Group/Asia Pacific.

In this newly created role, Cheng is charged with consolidating O&M’s social media offerings in China, building thought leadership and expanding the agency’s business in the dynamic and crucial battleground of social media. Cheng will be leading social initiatives for clients to build their brands and businesses.

Emiko Nagai.jpgWith more than 15 years of experience in digital marketing, Cheng is an avid social marketing evangelist in Taiwan and mainland China. His last position was as General Manager of the China East Office of Chinese social networking service Renren for three and a half years. Prior to that, Cheng helped pioneer online marketing in Taiwan during his eight-year tenure at Yahoo! Taiwan. He has led innovative projects in both the Taiwanese and mainland Chinese markets with international brands including Unilever, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson and more.

At the same time, Emiko Nagai has also joined the company as Regional Business Director of O&M Group/Asia Pacific, where she is the new brand team leader of one of O&M Shanghai’s largest clients, IHG. Nagai will replace Alex Lee, who has transitioned into the role of Regional Digital Director, O&M Group/Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong.

As the 360 Degree team leader on all IHG brands in the Greater China region, Nagai will focus on the client’s integrated brand strategy ranging from digital communications to customer relationship management (CRM). She will also oversee IHG’s global coordination across Asia  and the Middle East.

Hailing from an international background, Nagai was born in Japan, grew up in Brazil and

educated in the US. She has 15 years of experience in multiple Asian markets across Japan, Hong Kong and mainland China, where she spent four years at TBWA China working with clients such as Michelin, Tencent, McDonald’s and Star Elite. Before that Nagai was with Leo Burnett in Hong Kong and Japan for 11 years as the Group Brand Director for SKII and Rejoice – two brands that she successfully helped to establish in the Greater China market.

“I’m very pleased that Jeffery and Emiko, who are both strong and seasoned managers in their own right, will be joining our Shanghai team,” said Debby Cheung, President of Ogilvy & Mather

Group/Shanghai. “In addition to a profound understanding of the social media ecosystem, Jeffery

has an outstanding track record in constructing businesses and teams, which makes him the ideal person to lead our growing Social@Ogilvy practice. And as a skilled and proven manager, I have no doubt that Emiko is the best candidate to effectively run an integrated and complex cross-discipline account. Their appointments will add tremendous value to O&M Shanghai’s managerial cast.”
