Earth Hour.jpgOn the completion of 50 years of operation in 2013, Anchor Panasonic, one of India’s leading electrical solutions company, has unveiled ‘Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya’ as its vision for the future.

The thought behind the vision was conceptualized by Scarecrow Communications. Extracted from a famous shloka from the Brihadaranyaka Upanishads, ‘Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya’ means ‘Leading from Darkness to Light’. Since Anchor Panasonic has committed itself to rural electrification and to explore green energy avenues like solar and wind energy, the shloka perfectly articulates its future plans.

In its endeavour to take forward its vision in every possible way, Anchor Panasonic found a perfect partner in WWF-India and its global initiative – Earth Hour which took place on Saturday night.

Renowned musicians Rekha Bhardwaj and Desi Roots joined the celebration and Rekha Bhardwaj performed a special rendition of Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya,

At the closing of Earth Hour, just before lights across the world came back on, renowned classical singer Pandit Pranab Biswas, leading playback singer Bonnie Chakravarthy, and leading music composer and percussionist Rooshin Dalal concluded the event by performing the Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya anthem.
