This is what a brilliant print ad looks like. You will be seeing this at a lot of award shows. Starting with D&AD/One show. The multi-cultural mix at Cannes won’t get it.
Great idea, though as the ad is a homage to the original “You Love It Or Hate It” Marmite campaign in the UK (so you’ll either Get It Or You Won’t), the line that reads:
‘One woman, a nation divided’
is actually redundant. The ad is exactly the same without it. And simpler is better.
Yeah this is very British and you have to get the reference (the UK ‘you either love it or hate it Marmite campaign’ – but it’s really economical, and I love that
This is the cats whiskers.
I strongly disagree with the poster who says it works without the headline. This is not an ad for award show judges only, but a real ad for people who may not instantly recall every Marmite tagline in a jiffy. The headline closes the loop and makes it all the more satisfying.
Brilliant
