PowWow.jpgDDB China Group held two intensive Creative Pow Wow weekends recently bringing together creative teams from DDB Group’s Shanghai and Beijing offices. The first Creative Pow Wow took place in the picturesque setting of Zhouzhuang. Teams of multi-disciplinary talent rotated to crack four live client briefs in just 36 hours.

The second weekend took place in Sinan Mansions, Shanghai and the same format was applied to tackle another two live client briefs. Against the clock, creative teams brainstormed, collaborated and generated solutions. They then presented their ideas in teams to the entire group, who in turn asked questions and gave feedback to help each team sharpen their thoughts and ideas.

Both events saw the creative department from Shanghai and Beijing flourish out of their day-to-day work environment and allowed them to collaborate with creatives they wouldn’t usually work with.

Jimmy Lam, Vice-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer said, “Breaking the routine and norm and mixing up different creative teams in order to learn from one another was imperative to the success of Creative Pow Wow. Their collective passion, energy and experiences were sparked innovative and effective ideas for clients.”

“In between the high-pressure working sessions, plenty of laughter, fun and healthy debates filled the room. The sessions allowed ignited creativity and truly allowed our people to live out the power of DDB’s Four Freedoms: Freedom from Fear, Freedom to Fail, Freedom from Chaos and Freedom to Be.”

Richard Tan, President and CEO of DDB Group North China said: “Agencies that stay ahead will need to innovate. At DDB China Group we always start with our people first. Putting together the best talent for our Creative Pow Wows unleashed the power of our people through collaboration, courage and passion and led to innovative and creative business solutions>”
