Nine Golds awarded at Philippines’ Kidlat Awards

Its more fun in The Philippines.jpgThe Philippines Kidlat Awards were handed out over the weekend and by the end of the country’s largest annual show, agencies had walked away with 9 Gold, 26 Silver and 48 Bronze gongs. In addition there were 97 finalists.

Leading the way with 4 Gold, 6 Silver, 6 Bronze and 12 finalists was BBDO Guerrero. Their haul of Golds included 3 for the Department of Tourism “It’s more fun in The Philippines”. The campaign (left) won Gold in Integrated Campaign, Digital & Mobile: Social Network & Online and Digital & Mobile: Viral Marketing. The agency’s fourth Gold came in the Film and TV category for Saridon “Wash”.

“It’s more fun in The Philippines” resulted in the creation of over 40,000 crowd-scourced versions posted on blogs, Facebook and Twitter.

DDB DM9JaymeSyfu only won 3 awards, but two of them were Golds – both for Gabriella “Bury the Past” in the DIWA Digital & Mobile and Media Digital or Mobile Platform categories.

TBWA\SMP won Gold in the Media Large Scale Outdoor/Ambient category with Boysen “Project EDSA”. They also won 2 Silver and 10 Bronze awards.

Greenpeace_Tick.jpgJWT Manila won the only Print Gold for Greenpeace “Tick” (pictured left).

DDB Philippines won Gold in Public Relations for Sting “Pacquiao Positive”.

Outside of the Gold winners ACE Saatchi & Saatchi and Lowe also had impressive performances (see table of metal winners below).
