Adidas sticks cricket stumps on the walls of Mumbai to celebrate Sachin Tendulkar’s 40th birthday
There is a cricketer in every Indian. But in the country’s cramped cities, cricket pitches are scarce. Kids look for strips of land between buildings for a game.
Adidas, and agency TBWA India wondered if cricket pitches and the passion to play could meet on the 40th birthday of India’s most revered cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, so they added a new feature to the streets – cricket stumps.
They pasted the adidas Wall Cricket Poster in alleys, corridors, parking lots and every possible strip of land in the city. Overnight urban landscapes turned into cricket pitches. And they ended up occupying the most valuable piece of real estate. The hearts of a billion cricketers.

Love it! Simple idea. Executed beautifully.
I wish I did it. It was waiting to be done. Amazing!!
Nice one Parx. That was fast!
Simple Idea. Brilliant soundtrack!
Nice!
What the pr doesn’t tell you is that kids already use chalk to draw their stumps everywhere they can. So there are already millions of stumps drawn all over the city. The adidas stumps are neater but offer nothing new.
Plus Nike already did this when they stencilled goalposts on city walls to promote street football.
guys, if you post some work here, and we all see it, we already know if its good or bad. your comments don;t make them any better. so save your energy for better things, parx
