Hexos are mints. Mints that have been helping people talk for years. The claim was always simple: if you lost your voice, we’ll bring it back. After 20 years, we thought it was about time to go farther. The question was as naive as powerful: we’d been bringing the voice back for thousands of people every year but, what if you didn’t have a voice to start with? Teams from two countries collaborating, months of research and countless tests to bring it to life. Voice for All. A system that captures physical gestures through motion sensing technology and translates them into auditory experiences. The sign language from speech impaired people was converted into sound, and became a voice. Their own voice, for the first time in their lives. With Voice for All, Hexos is going a step farther, always working under its very same essence: giving a voice to those who needed one.

In Indonesia, challenges like malaria and diarrhea are not new, and far from over. After decades of being exposed to this reality, even caring people became immune to it. In such a context, where malaria and diarrhea were an ever-present-always-out-there kind of theme, we thought our best chances for our message to be seen, was to hide it. We partnered with local online communities. Once users wanted to sign up or leave comments, we captured their undivided attention by turning a familiar device (the regular captcha) into something unexpected. At the end, we helped make familiar social issues noticeable again. And more importantly helped Unicef, make a difference.
