Cannes Contenders: Leo Burnett Manila
In the lead up to the Cannes Lions Festival, Campaign Brief Asia will be showcasing work from some of Asia’s top agencies that we hope will impress the judges…
McDonald’s “Car” and McDonald’s “Van” TVCs
Leo Burnett Manila
Weird things can happen when one gets hungry, what more when you’re driving late at night? These TVCs depict the urgent need for food on the road. Proving the point that when your stomach growls, it can get to your head. Fret not, there’s always a McDonald’s Drive-Thru just around the bend.
WWF “Candles” Print Campaign
Leo Burnett Manila
When the lights go out, we typically go back to old school illumination — candles. By this simple act, we not only save energy, we help heal the earth. To create vivid imagery, used candles and natural habitats were juxtaposed in this print campaign for the worldwide movement that is Earth Hour – a most opportune time to send out the message.
McDonald’s “Gym” and “Box Office” TVCs
Eyes on your fries! People can’t get enough of McDonald’s world famous fries and it can put them to sticky situations. One TVC shows one guy’s craving leads him to a face-off with 4-division world boxing champion, ESPN and Sports Illustrated 2012 Fighter of the Year Nonito Donaire. Another one adds real life horror to watching a horror flick in a moviehouse.
WWF “Nightlife” TVC
Through simple animation and a memorable song with spare instrumentation, the nightlife unfolds in this TVC. But it’s a nightlife that a well-lit city hardly sees: nocturnal creatures coming alive and illuminating the darkness. Without being preachy, the ad delivers a relevant global message most apt for Earth Hour. Won Best of Show in Adobo Magazine’s Design Awards 2013.
