Advice on Advice: Take It or Leave It
There’s a tonne of advice out there for juniors wanting to break into the industry — books, blogs, and people wanting to give you their two cents. The accounts people are not your friends
Until getting into advertising, the idea of an office being divided into an “Us VS. Them” dynamic wouldn’t even cross your mind. And why would it? The point of having a job title isn’t for individual benefit. It’s to help us all understand how we’ll work together to get things done. Unfortunately there are people in this industry who reinforce the division between Creative and Accounts. Because there are people who suck at their jobs everywhere. It has nothing to do with being Creative or an Accounts Person. And you can decide to have nothing to do with it too.
