The Cresta Awards issues call for entries – deadline set to close on Friday, March 7th
The Cresta Awards, which honors an absolute standard of creative excellence in international advertising and marketing communications since 1993, has issued the call for entries in its 22nd worldwide competition.
The deadline for entries is Friday 7 March 2014. All work must be submitted online. The entry fee for single items is $395/each. The entry fee for campaigns consisting of a series of ads for the same product or service is $195/item. Integrated Campaigns has a flat fee of $650.
Creative Standards International, the Cresta Awards is pleased to announce its selection for 2014 Jury President, Mr. Andreas Dahlqvist, President/Global Creative Leadership Council, McCann New York. Mr. Dahlqvist, a native of Sweden, studied advertising and communications in both Sweden and the United States before starting his professional career in New York and Stockholm. In Sweden, he worked for traditional ad agencies and a couple of Stockholm’s most sought-after digital agencies during the late nineties. In 1999, he founded the well renowned hybrid/interactive agency The Bearded Lady. In 2003, he became Creative Director of Paradiset DDB and started DDB Stockholm as Managing Partner and Executive Creative Director in 2004. Under his creative and strategic leadership, The Gunn Report ranked DDB Stockholm the best digital agency in the world this year and most creative agency three consecutive years after. Andreas was named Sweden’s most influential creative by Sweden’s leading trade paper and listed on Creativity-Online and AdAge’s Top 50 – an annual list of innovators and category-defiers who helped shape and redefine advertising, marketing and culture.
Upon his acceptance of the Cresta Grand Jury presidency, Mr. Dahlqvist said: “Cresta is short for creative standards and that is what we are looking to set. We will be looking for the stuff that leads the way and sets a shining example. We will be searching for the ideas that you wished you would have done yourself. A sting of envy is a good compass when you’re judging; it proves that it’s high quality work that sets the bar for the rest of us.”
All entries will be screened by several worldwide juries, who will compile a short-list of finalists that will be submitted to an International Grand Jury of expert creative directors, film specialists and graphic artists. Short-listed interactive entries will be judged by a separate Grand Jury of interactive experts. Work will be judged on originality of the creative idea and quality of its execution (except in the Crafts & Design competitions where only executional quality is taken into consideration).
