ikea-logo.jpgIconic Swedish furniture designer and retailer IKEA has appointed Arcade Jakarta to handle its integrated market launch in Indonesia. Arcade won the business following strategic talks that involved several Jakarta-based international agencies.

“This is another big win for newly opened Arcade in Jakarta, which only launched last month with foundation client, Unilever. The Singapore-headquartered agency has already garnered a reputation as one of the region’s fastest growing independents.

IKEA, known for its award-winning and often unorthodox marketing approaches appointed Arcade after identifying its affinity for the brand: “The IKEA concept is based on democratic design combining function, quality, design, sustainability and value. Our vision is to create a better everyday life for as many people as possible. We found that Arcade ‘got’ the concept quickly and developed ideas that will really help us bring the IKEA concept to life for Indonesians.” said IKEA Indonesia General Manager, Mark Magee.

Winning another of the world’s top brands to add to our founding Unilever client, is testament to the strength of the new team. We’re both thrilled and proud of achieving this so soon after opening our doors.”

The first IKEA megastore in Indonesia will open later this year in Jakarta, Alam Sutera, Tangerang. It will carry the full range of inspiring products and share home furnishing knowledge to “Better everyday living at home” for Indonesians.

Arcade will manage the integrated creative and media launch.
